FUTO Notes

The folders, markdown, and tags make it better than most other options (minus Obsidian). However, the differentiating features they claim to have are tied to the Sync which is a complicated process most people are never gonna setup. It might be Open Source but NOT EVERY USER IS A PROGRAMMER. Also, yes, it's open source, but you can't raise issues for bugs or missing functionality like suggesting tags. Overall I'd like to support it, but it's just a clumsier version of Obsidian.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use this app, but I already like it enough to have it replace Samsung Notes which I've used for years. I gave it 4 stars because the toolbar wasn't showing when I first installed it. I already really dig the features it has (Check Boxes, Bulleted Lists, etc.) I appreciate having an alternative notes app!

It doesn't let me import files. I tried copy/pasting my .md files in the FUTO Notes folder, but they didn't appear when I reopened the app. If this is fixed, I will reinstall and give a 5 star review. For ages I've been looking for an offline writing app that doesn't share or collect my data.

Came here to try it after seeing the latest FUTO dev panel video explaining it. The following is not a review but rather feedback since I know it's under development. I like the simple UI and I'm sure the features are coming soon but it does feel a little undercooked. Hoping to see the feature that "sleeps" on your notes and makes connections. So far my biggest annoyance is when I make a new note rather than the title defaulting to beeing empty I have to select all and delete before typing.

Loved this note taking app. The pure local and private experience is amazing. and the ui is great. but it needs graph view like obsidian. it's the only reason i am not sticking with it yet. if any day Futo notes gets graph view without relying on a self hosted backend, i will surely come back to it.
