Description

Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the world around you. Designed with and for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world by describing nearby people, text and objects.

Seeing AI provides tools to assist with a variety of daily tasks:
• Read - Hear text as soon as it appears in front of the camera. Document alignment provides audio cues to capture a printed page and recognize the text along with its original formatting. Ask Seeing AI about the contents to easily find the information you need.
• Describe - Take photos to hear a rich description. Ask questions to focus on the information you care about. Explore photos by moving your finger over the screen to hear the location of different objects.
• Products - Scan barcodes and Accessible QR codes using audio beeps to guide you; hear the product name and package information when available.
• People - Save photos of friends and coworkers so you can recognize them later. Get an estimate of their age, gender, and expression.
• Currency - Recognize currency notes.
• Find My Things - Teach Seeing AI to recognize your personal objects and follow the audio cues to find them later.
• World - An Audio Augmented Reality experience to explore an unfamiliar environment, including hearing objects announced around you with Spatial Audio (requires a device with a LiDAR, and iOS 14+).
• Colors - Identify colors.
• Light - Hear an audible tone corresponding to the brightness of your surroundings.
• Photos and Videos in other apps - Just tap “Share” and “Recognize with Seeing AI” to describe media from Mail, Photos, WhatsApp, and more.
• Browse Photos - Hear descriptions of photos and videos saved on your device.

Seeing AI continues to evolve as we hear from the community, and AI research advances.

I've just installed the app and so far I love it. However, I do have a question/ suggestion. Can I add people to the "recognizable people" tab using pics I already have on my phone instead of pics taken through the app? If not then I would highly recommend that. I have family and loved ones that I don't get to see often due to distance (my eye specialist said I'm only allowed to drive short distances using familiar routes). I would like to add them to recognizable people but can't take pics

I downloaded this app to assist me with my vision as I am visually impaired. It works usually well, however I have noticed a bug. Whenever I try to delete a recognized face in the "People" tab, it never actually deletes and just comes back. Also, if I may add a suggestion: please make it be able to recognize pets! My daughter has a small black cat and it would be very helpful to be able to identify her as we have dark furniture and I don't want to accidentally harm her. Thank you.

This is only one and the best app to OCR Nepali pdfs as it retains the original layout remarkably. Please remove the 10-page limit window as students and professionals are facing hardship to OCR larger files.

Excellent idea but I can't understand a word it says. Speech is very fast, high pitched and overly digitized. Would be nice if it used our phones voice processing.

A few things to address here. Why currency can only be set to 1?? It’ll be great if we can choose multiple currencies. And somewhere in the app it said that the app is not aware of furniture when recognising or finding your lost objects. Please make it aware of furniture. Also I think this is the Person channel (or it could be a different channel), in the More tab, there is this button called Launch Tutorial which did not do anything when I pressed (double tapped) it. This is only my first time using the app. Thks.
