Description

πŸ“š Ebook reader for the books and comics already on your phone. OPDSy reads EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, CBZ and CBR β€” no account, no ads, no tracking, and it works offline. Add any folder as a library, or connect a self-hosted OPDS server such as Komga or Kavita.

Connect your OPDS servers to read everything in one place, or open a file straight from another app. New to OPDS? It's the open standard that self-hosted libraries like Komga, Kavita, Ubooquity, Calibre-Web, BookOrbit, Grimmory and LazyLibrarian use to share your books. Add your first server or folder in seconds and start reading. πŸš€

πŸ“– Works with your whole library:

β€’ Servers: Komga, Kavita, Ubooquity, Calibre-Web, BookOrbit, Grimmory, LazyLibrarian, and any OPDS 1.2 or OPDS 2.0 server
β€’ Local: add any folder on your device as a local library, or open a file straight from another app
β€’ WebDAV: browse and read from any WebDAV server
β€’ Ebooks: EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, FB2 and PDF
β€’ Comics & manga: CBZ anywhere, plus CBR streamed page-by-page over OPDS-PSE where your server supports it
β€’ Also: Markdown with Mermaid.js diagrams

⭐ Key features:

βœ” One unified library across every server, with per-source colour badges
βœ” Each source loads independently β€” one slow or offline server never breaks the rest
βœ” Comic reader: paged or continuous vertical-scroll (webtoon), left-to-right or right-to-left for manga, fit-to-screen or fit-to-width
βœ” Dual-page spreads in landscape; double-tap or pinch to zoom into artwork
βœ” Smart page prefetching, so the next page is ready before you swipe
βœ” Ebook reader: adjustable fonts and line spacing, with light, sepia and OLED-friendly dark themes
βœ” Built-in PDF reader with pinch and double-tap zoom
βœ” Markdown reader with Mermaid.js diagram rendering
βœ” Text-to-speech: listen to any ebook, flowing sentence by sentence and auto-continuing between chapters, with speed and pitch control and offline or online voices
βœ” Offline dictionary: tap Define on any word to see its meaning, examples and synonyms without leaving the page β€” downloaded on demand, and every lookup stays on your device
βœ” Jump straight to a page: drag the slider, type an exact page, or flick through a filmstrip of page thumbnails in comics and PDFs; books list every chapter too
βœ” Continue Reading remembers your place across every source
βœ” Mark anything read or unread, and folders show a READ badge once you've finished everything inside
βœ” Highlight passages in five colours with your own notes, and bookmark a place in any book, PDF or comic β€” all in one list, and synced to your other devices
βœ” Favourite books and folders for one-tap access from your home screen
βœ” Read offline: download comics and books to your device, with downloads that resume automatically
βœ” Available in 50 languages
βœ” Made for e-ink: an E-reader screen with a high-contrast black-on-white theme, animations off to stop ghosting, and volume keys that turn the page on e-readers

πŸ”’ Private by design:

βœ” No accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking of any kind
βœ” Connects only to the self-hosted servers you choose
βœ” Credentials stored securely in your device keychain
βœ” Optional cross-device sync is fully end-to-end encrypted β€” readable only by you
βœ” Dictionary lookups happen entirely on-device β€” nothing you look up ever leaves your phone
βœ” Optionally publish your reading position back to Komga instead, so its web UI and your other devices show the same place
βœ” Files on your device stay on your device

v2.35.1

After trying numerous apps for my remotely hosted Calibre Web and Kavita libraries, this is the app I feel the most comfort with. It integrates the libraries seamlessly and does not make you go around the hassle of OPDS that apps like Moon+ Reader do. Would totally recommend to any reader with a cloud-hosted library.

Works perfectly with ubooquity and the app just looks stunning when you have a nice library of books. The interface is clean and intuitive.

v2.25.0

This app is the only solution I have found for listening epubs on a Komga server with text to speech. It doesn't have as many options as some readers, but the interface is clean and simple, and what it does, it does very well. The comic reader and the epub reader are nice, and text-to-speech is built in. It downloads files for offline reading in the app, it syncs progress to the server, and it also includes local folders as libraries. I love it. It is a bargain for the price.

v2.24.0

Gave me the easiest experience connecting and downloading from a self hosted Grimmory instance of several apps I tried. Comparatively feature-minimal, but that is actually what I was looking for so I am pretty happy.
