I've used a lot of apps for studying Japanese but this one is well beyond the others. Gamifying language learning is genius and this app handles it really well. You're thrown into Japan without much knowledge, and they have you learn as you travel. Each region is unlocked after several tests, and replayable mini-games help you study and learn from your mistakes. I've tried so many others but this one has become my favorite, and their dictionary that grows with your knowledge is so cool!

A perfect learning game for Japanese.

This is the single best app in my opinion for Japanese. It has everything you need to learn with easy to follow explanations. I’m still working on understanding a few things like ru verbs and stuff, but they explain it in a way that you understand it. You just have to get used to it and memorize. There are a hand full I have gotten used too, which is a huge upgrade from any other learning tool I’ve used. You can also feel the love and effort the devs put into it. You can tell that they have a true passion for Japanese. Thank you for all your hard work you have done on the game. I do have a few questions though. 1. Is there a way you can put a Japanese age on the game. Basically, it shows the age of your knowledge. It would let people know the extent of what they can do in a real life scenario. Ex: the age for books/manga you could read to keep up on your studies. I think it would be very helpful. 2. Do you plan on doing things that teach Japanese for rpgs. Cause some games have very complex kanji that even Japanese people might have trouble with. Maybe as a Easter egg thing, where you have to go out of your way to find and learn. Or making a sequel to Wagotabi that’s about gaming. (If not, I understand. It’s probably a idea not many people learning will be interested in.) Sorry for the long post, I’ve been thinking about this for a while.

Really good game with really good support

A fun and immersive Japanese language learning game. Some parts, like the timer on the bosses, I found frustrating but after reaching out to the team they sent back an email in a few hours. There’s actually a settings button in the user profile that controls a lot of different features.. including timers. Highly recommended!

I've been learning Japanese as a beginner and i must say that 1 hour on this game taught me more than 2 weeks of learning. firstly this game is extremely fun so you can be going at it for an hour and not even notice (bc srs i thought i was only playing for 15 mins i swear). secondly, most apps just teach you a few things and then one test and leave it at that, HERE ON THE OTHER HAND, you are constantly reminded of what you've alr learned and so it's much harder to forget! 10/10 worth the price!!

10/10 recommend!

Although I just started this game by playing the demo first I really enjoyed it. The learning the kanji and katakana really is helpful as I have a hard time memorizing things this app helped me memories a lot! I really love it please continue developing this app, I already shared it with some friends of mine. 🥰

Best Japanese learning app on the market!

This is the most effortless and natural way to learn Japanese. You start from nothing and everything is in English and gradually as you learn new Japanese words and grammar structures, the English is then swapped out for that new information. All the characters will talk to you using those new words and grammar structures. You also learn lots of various facts about Japan! I really enjoy learning everything I can about Japan. I liked that it introduces real places facts about that place, facts about history, book recommendations and folklore. Absolutely everything is great! I also love the fact you learn kanji and when you do learn the kanji there’s no furigana above it, this really does make you get better at reading it and remember how to read it! I love that for every Japanese sentence there’s audio for it so you get listening and reading practise. I truly adore this game so far. I know it’s still being updated, I’d really like it if it could go up to level N3 or even beyond. 5+ stars! Amazing ❤️

Amazing game

I'm really enjoying this app. I've finished the chapter on Momotaro's dog but can't seem to progress to the next one. I also couldn't access 蒜山. Is this chapter still in progress?
