Description

Bluetooth Priority lets you designate one Bluetooth device as your Priority device. When a competing Bluetooth device connects and tries to steal your audio, the app detects it and immediately reasserts your Priority device. Some competing devices may try to assert themselves multiple times in a row — the app handles each attempt.

Android Auto limitation: If you use Android Auto (wired or wireless), Android grants it full control over media audio at the system level — this is Android's own design, not a bug in the app. Bluetooth Priority cannot override Android Auto's media audio session. Phone calls, however, are routed through the Bluetooth stack and the app will successfully keep those on your Priority device even when Android Auto is active.

This app requires Shizuku. Shizuku is a free app (available on Google Play) that grants Bluetooth Priority the system-level access it needs to manage audio routing. Without Shizuku running, the app cannot function. Setup requires a Wi-Fi connection for Shizuku to start running if it's not already — see the in-app setup instructions for details.

Who is this for?

Anyone with multiple Bluetooth devices where one keeps stealing audio from another — most commonly a car stereo or smartwatch pulling audio away from earbuds when it connects. Not recommended as a primary solution if Android Auto is always active.

Useful idea, but the non-root limitation is not disclosed clearly enough. Bluetooth Priority requires Shizuku, and after EVERY reboot Shizuku’s auto-start depends on reconnecting to a Wi-Fi network already trusted for wireless debugging. Reboot on cellular/elsewhere and the app may not work until Shizuku is restored. I also would not recommend trusting extra networks for ADB just to keep a $4.99 utility functional; that unnecessarily broadens the phone’s attack surface.

These are fair criticisms, and worth updating the app description to clarify. Restarting Shizuku after a device reboot absolutely requires a Wi-Fi network for ADB that you trust. AMAZING app, does the job i hate when my phone connects to my car even when im not even inside it and i have to disable Bluetooth but then my watch gets disconnected so its annoying, but this app solves this it can let you manage your Bluetooth connections. one thing is make sure both shizuku and bt priority app are set to unrestricted in the battery and also turn off manage app if unused in the settings of both these apps 😀

I have been looking for a solution to android auto hijacking my Bluetooth earbuds for YEARS. Once I got shizuku up and running, this worked perfectly. I work from my car a lot and I want to be able to use my earbuds for calls when parked without having to shut off android auto or constantly fighting to stop it from taking over mid call. This is exactly what I needed (edited to fix spelling)

This app solved a problem I had been dealing with for a while. My portable Android unit would aggressively route my phone calls away from my Bluetooth-to-AUX device (my car does not have Bluetooth), and I would have to manually change the Bluetooth device every single time I made or received a call. This app solved the issue of my portable Android unit taking over calls, and now my calls are routed correctly.
