Description

Vitals: ICD Browser is a high-performance, professional-grade clinical reference and medical coding toolkit. Built by a clinician for medical coders, doctors, health IT professionals, and clinical informatics specialists.

⚡ Offline-First Architecture

Zero Latency: Engineered with a custom local SQLite FTS4 search engine. Find diagnostic codes, synonyms, and medical terms instantly as you type.

No Wi-Fi Required: The entire clinical classification database is stored locally. Access deep ontologies seamlessly in lead-lined hospital basements, rural clinics, or dead cellular zones.

Generous Free Tier: Browsing and searching the core WHO ICD-10 and ICD-11 datasets (including CDDR diagnostic requirements), using postcoordination tools, and basic bookmarks. Completely free, with no ads. Essential tools should not be gated by cost.

⭐ Vitals Pro: Upgrade to Vitals Pro to unlock advanced and institutional-grade coding tools and multi-device synchronization:

US ICD-10-CM Database: Complete tabular navigation alongside official CDC main indexes, drug tables, neoplasm tables, and external causes of injuries.

Coding Worksheets & PDF Exports: Build patient encounter workspaces, run automated code validation (Excludes1/Excludes2 conflict checks), and export professional Diagnostic Summary PDFs for clinical handoffs.

Cross-Classification Detours: Built-in crosswalks to compare ICD-10 and ICD-11 equivalents side-by-side with seamless one-tap traversal.

Advanced Bookmarks & Clinical Notes: Group frequently used codes into custom folders and attach rich Markdown annotations—such as clinical reminders, study notes, or external links—directly to any diagnostic entry.

Zero-Knowledge Cloud Sync: Log in securely to sync your bookmarks, notes, and workspaces across all your Android devices. Client-side encryption ensures your clinical data remains 100% private.

Clinical Guidelines: Show the WHO Blue (CDDG) & Green (DCR-10) Books for ICD-10 mental health disorders.

Post-coordination Decoder: Paste any post-coordinated string into the search bar to instantly decode and visualize its sub-components.

🔍 Advanced ICD-11 & Postcoordination Tools

Postcoordination Builder: An intuitive interface to build complex stem and extension codes. Construct codes for lateralization, anatomy, severity, and more effortlessly.

Multilingual ICD-11: Full localization support for English, French, German, and Spanish datasets.

🎨 Premium Professional UX (Material 3)

Expressive Design: Who said a clinical tool can’t look good? Rendered with Material 3 Expressive, 120Hz smooth scrolling, and dynamic color theming.

Fluid Performance: Navigate complex medical ontologies with a recursive engine designed for rapid master/detail traversal and predictive back gestures.

🩺 The Story Behind Vitals
I’m a doctor in training in Scotland. In my daily practice, I use ICD classifications constantly, but I grew frustrated with the tools available. Most apps were clunky, relied on active hospital Wi-Fi, or lacked modern search capabilities.

Vitals started as a project to solve my own workflow issues. It has grown into a mission to fit the entirety of the ICD-10, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-11 datasets into a single, beautiful, ultra-performant app. The core WHO databases are free, while Vitals Pro helps fund ongoing independent development to keep the app sustainable.
