Description

Do you feed birds? You can report what you see for science. Project FeederWatch, a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Birds Canada, monitors winter feeder-bird populations in North America. The FeederWatch Mobile App is a new way for Project FeederWatch members to contribute their bird counts.

Sign in to:
•Report birds that visit your count site in winter (US and Canada only)
•Track your sighting statistics in real time
•Access your archive of past counts from all years
•Contribute to North America’s largest database on feeder birds
•Find out what food and feeder types work best for the birds overwintering near you

The new interface isn't as good as the old one. Everything is too big, icons, selection buttons, etc. Maybe this change was made to be more accessible but it would be nice if there was a scale option. it takes forever to scroll through the bird list now because each entry is huge.

Update 11/29/25 - App is not working. Won't open. Thanks for the email and the update. It works perfectly now and we submitted our first bird count using the app this morning. It is so convenient to keep the count on our phones.

So sorry you had trouble with the app! We just released a bug fix that I hope will remedy things for you. (An operating system update changed the data storage interface on some phones.) Consistently gives an error message that the data can not be saved. Both for counts and site info updates. Uninstall, reinstall is no help. Would be a really helpful app if working. Please fix.
