MacOS update broke compatibility with Compressor

The app was working just fine on my M1 MacBook Pro Max. I just updated to MacOS Sonoma 14.8.7, which broke compatibility with Compressor 4.10.1 and now shows the crossed out icon. Trying to open it says "In order to use 'Compressor.app', you need to update to the latest version." but when I go to the App Store and try to download it, it says I need to download an older version and proceeds to do that. But that's the older version that doesn't work. WFT, Apple?

Version 5.2 removed Dolby encoders

Seems like it is to prepare for Rosetta deprecation – in 18 months. Not great for people who paid for this. If you’re an video compression app, being able to encode to AC3/EC3 is a big deal.
