Description

Lyft Bike (formerly Bay Wheels) is the Bay Area's bikeshare system, operated by Lyft — with thousands of bikes throughout San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and San Jose, available 24/7.

Choose from electric bikes or classic bikes — both built for fun, efficiency, and safety.

Find and unlock bikes instantly with the interactive map in the app, and park at any station when you're done. Ebikes offer greater parking flexibility: lock them to any public bike rack in the service area using the built-in cable lock.

Bikeshare is an eco-friendly, healthy way to get around whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring a new city.

Get started:
Scan the QR code on any bike with the Lyft or Lyft Bike app to unlock and get riding.

Ride your way:

This is the worst electric bike service I have ever experience in my entire life. They do not even deserve one star. I bought the day pass today which was advertised as a FULL DAY pass. I was then charged 37 dollars on my bike ride. Odd, I thought but maybe it is user error. I purchased the day pass AGAIN and picked up a different bike and was them charged over 63 dollars. After picking up another bike I was charged over 100 dollars for 1 day. This is absolutely ridiculous and frankly scamming.

Sometimes, without warning, the bikes disappear from a multi block radius nearly all at once. Not great when you have a routine and you rely on the to bike to make a timed connection like at Caltrain. A simple courtesy notification that bike availability will be reduced for a certain time frame in a certain area sure would be helpful. The circumstances around mass bike disappearance seem to when there's an update to the advertising decals or bike hardware changes.

the snapping behavior is simply awful and can't be turned off. it is not possible to look ahead for an open dock during a ride. utterly stupid.
