DRAGON QUEST VIII

EDIT: The frame rate is FIXED. It only took literally 12 years! It used to feel sub-20. The rest of the review still stands: Dragon Quest 8 is a 5/5 game. This version has no voice acting & controls poorly. The controls barely have any edit options and the one option doesn't really help. ----- People that gave this 5* before the performance update still deserve a cone of shame. You with low to no standards, you.

I gave one star because you cannot finish the game. in chapter 7 there is a hut you need to go to, to recharge a mirror but there is no way to get to the hut to continue the game. I am pissed that I have wasted twenty dollars on this game only to find this out. I tried for over a two months now. Whatever you do do not buy this game. it is a waste of time and money.

i changed this review to thank square for at least increasing its fps to 30 and adding spanish and german and italian now more people can enjoy this game i would give this a 5 if voice acting was added beyond that i do like this game

if people actually pay attention they would know this isn't a port from US release but a port from the original Japanese (Japanese didn't care for voice acting during this time) and used everything from the Original Japanese version including the synthesized music, it was the US version where they added voice acting and orchestral music, and the 3DS version used the US version but for some reason they used the Japanese version for phone.
