When a product has a negative impact on your health, Yuka also recommends similar but healthier alternative products.

Yuka is a 100% independent project : product reviews and recommendations of healthier alternatives are done in an objective way. No brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. ◆ 6 MILLION REFERENCED PRODUCTS ◆

Yuka established a database that contains 4 million food products and 2 million cosmetic products.

Each food product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional quality, presence of additives and organic aspect of the product.

The method to analyse cosmetic products is based on the analysis of all the ingredients of the product. Each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to the latest scientific data.

Greatest app

I have been Yuka for over 2 years now this has helped me to be mindful of the food l eat and products that l am using on my skin. I look and feel so much better, l have shared this app with so many people. I would advise all to purchase the yearly subscription to support the hard work Yuka team are doing. Great potential, but only works 5% of the time.

Been a paid subscriber and using this for a while, but recently started looking for an alternative. These days it’s very rare that this apps works at all, it constantly glitches and needs reloading. It’s not very often you can get a signal in shops, but when u can the app usually still doesn’t work, offline mode is it a must, but that still doesn’t work at all anymore either. Almost every product seems to come up with ‘artificial flavours’ despite being free from artificial flavours. It’s all just getting beyond a joke now, its like you have to fight to try and use the app, which is the last thing you want to be doing in the middle of shop. Recently I’ve not been using this app at all as I’ve just completely given up with it, so I’ve just been stick to buying my usual food that I know is okay till I can find a decent alternative or they fix this app, which in unlikely given how long these issues have been going on for and have been getting worse, which is a shame as this app does have great potential.

False info

I think it’s dangerous to provide a negative rating or review to a product that is high in calories or saturated fats. Some foods that are high in these are very good for you eg nut butter, organic butter, etc. also, it didn’t pick up the palm oil in 2 nut butters I reviewed. Where’s the dangerous rating there?
