JL credit card

Really useful card. Accepted everywhere it seems. Works abroad - if you insert it! And the app is SO useful in keeping track of what you’ve spent - love it!

Why no Touch ID?

Every time I want to use the John Lewis CC I have to first go to my eWallet, find the six digit code, remember it and then enter random digits from it before the app will open. Every other finance app I use has an option for Touch ID instead of a PIN code/set of digits. Why not this one? I use the JL CC much less because of this, ie JL is losing money. UPDATE: Had response from Steve, developer which came from Apple. The 'Contact the developer' link in Apple's email just went to the corporate website so of no use at all, so I am having to communicate directly this way. I only use the app on my iPad. I cannot find any option in any of the settings for biometric options. To see if it was different I installed it on my iPhone and it offered to use FaceID which I agreed to. I then logged out, and when I logged in it again asked if I wanted to use FaceID and again asked for the PIN, ie the first time it asked hadn't been set. After that the FaceID (on the phone) worked. However, there is no reference to FaceID or biometrics in the phone app; the only time it comes up is when you install it. With this information, I deleted the app on the iPad and reinstalled it. It then offered me the option to use TouchID, but again after setting it up and logging out it hadn't remembered and I had to say 'Yes' to TouchID again and enter the PIN. After that the iPad app now works with TouchID. However, as with the iPhone app (I know it's the same app, as it comes up as a phone app ie small on the iPad) there is nowhere that I can find in the app that mentions biometrics. The only time biometric log in is offered is when the app is first installed. Other banking apps have the option to enable or disable biometrics within the app.

Rubbish service not fitting of JL

JL credit card is ran by New Day - everything outsourced- they are really poor. Fraud line closes at 7pm, earlier at a weekends! Guess everyone goes home then, normal people stop shopping, travelling, going out and baddies put their feet up for the night, Why do brands mess with our loyalty as they try to squeeze a few more £££’s - don’t do things if you aren’t going to offer a decent / full service! This just makes me want to stop using John Lewis full stop.

Does the job but having to deliberately fail the bank payment to make it go to the credit card payment is an absolute hack. Can't see statements.

Was 5 star, a generous 2 now

App used to work fine before an update. Please explain how can I use the Payit app now when it asks for me to scan a QR code which isn’t generated for scanning. Poor update, you people cannot have tested the payment experience before deploying this to your customers. It’s just rubbish now and needs to be returned to how it was asap
