They very cleverly try to hide that there is a subscription fee you have to pay after a seven day free trial!! And it automatically renews without you even knowing about it!

Used to be a great app, was always happy to watch a few ads to get my plant ID'd. But the new $40/year plan just doesn't make sense for an app I use maybe twice a year. Bring back a truly free tier that is ad supported and rate limited.

The app is good but if you have Chat GPT or a similar AI app you don't really need this one.

Good app, terrible adverts!
I use this app to identify garden and wild plants and I like it a lot, but the adverts? Please change them, they’re putting me off. Salt in your lawn? Water your house plants with coffee or milk? Please.

Great app for learning with kids
Used on nature walks with kids to identify and “collect” plants and wildlife. Would love to see an official feature mirror this that has a list of plants to find with level of rarity and tips where to find. Overall fantastic app though for learning

Good app but…
This is a good app in terms of function as per the many other reviews, so I won’t dwell on that. However, I find it sneaky and a little dishonest that the opening screen is to start a paid subscription with a giant white “Continue” button with a tiny grey “cancel” button hiding in the corner, which is virtually the same colour as the background. It looks like it was designed to catch people out by tricking them into pressing “Continue” to start a subscription. And in fact, it did catch my mother out, who didn’t even realise she had a subscription until the reminder email one year later. For an app with good functionality, like this one, you don’t have to trick people into subscribing.

a bit of a con?
long intro, data mining, then discover it’s not free and there’s no free trial.
