Description

Size your heat pump correctly – calculate heating and cooling load per EN 12831-1.

Installing a heat pump is one of the most effective measures to reduce heating costs and COâ‚‚ emissions. The foundation of every correct heat pump sizing is a standard-compliant calculation of the building's heating and cooling load.

The Heat Pump Calculator computes your building's heating and cooling load according to the European standard EN 12831-1 – fast, accurate, and user-friendly. The app consolidates the norm's complex parameters into a clear input interface and delivers all the values you need for proper heat pump sizing.

In addition to the heating load calculation, the app determines the total annual heat and cooling demand, estimates expected electricity costs, and calculates the payback period of your new heating system – including a comparison with gas, oil, and other conventional heating systems.

🔧 Features:

- Calculate heating and cooling load per EN 12831-1
- Location-specific climate data and design outdoor temperatures
- Demand-based heat pump sizing
- Heating cost comparison: heat pump vs. gas, oil, pellets
- Economic analysis and payback period calculation
- PDF export of calculation results

Available in English and German

Ideal for: homeowners, HVAC engineers, energy consultants, and anyone planning a heat pump installation or requiring a standard-compliant heating load calculation.

v1.0.3

Start app in German then switch to English or it won't work. Intended use is in Germany. Will work in the USA. Temperature data is outdated, most recent is 2022. Overall it's pretty nice except for a few minor bugs and no imperial units.

Developer Response

Hello, thank you very much for the positive review. We will be releasing an update in the next few days with updated radiation data and a few bug fixes. There will also be a new feature allowing you to export results as a PDF. Best regards
