Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging, and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so you can use the app in the office, at home, or on the go.

NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Keep in mind:
• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in select countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for iPhone can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number based calls use the standard minutes from your cell phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when traveling internationally).

I see a problem with regard to my dev account that I sometimes use to prove telemetry concepts and local group policy, for example. I accidentally logged in under that account and it's fenced of due to "goverment ID required", but I have a passkey. A far more effective and trusted form of ID authorization. also, my profile picture is my ID. That account exist for the benefit of Google, contact hyde.island any time. Im not having any problems so far, if I run into any, I'll ket ya know. :)

Google voice is ok but it still needs very much work. for one it needs RCS so that you can actually send large files and photos. it also has almost no customization.

Horrible app

I have used this app for many years. Throughout this whole experience, Google voice has always came to my use. Now, if I just want to use my phone number or anything, I have to verify my id or government info. Back then, if you were simply just using it there was no “confirmation” needed. Horrible experience now.
