Turn your phone into a heart rate monitor. Place a fingertip on the rear camera and see your pulse in about 15 seconds. No smartwatch, no account, no internet connection needed.
[How the Measurement Works]
Your fingertip becomes the sensor. The flash shines into your finger, and blood absorbs far more of that light than the skin and tissue around it. Every heartbeat pushes a fresh pulse of blood into your fingertip, so the camera image darkens very slightly with each beat and brightens again as the pulse passes. The app reads the average brightness of about 30 frames every second, and the rise and fall of those values traces your pulse wave. How often that wave repeats is your BPM. This optical method is called photoplethysmography (PPG), the same principle behind the sensor lights on the back of a smartwatch. Every reading comes with a confidence score, so you always know how much to trust the number.
[Measure in 15 Seconds]
- Place your fingertip over the rear camera
- The flash turns on and measuring starts automatically
- Watch the live pulse waveform while it reads
- Works on Android phones with a rear camera and flash
[Confidence You Can See]
- Peak detection and frequency analysis cross-check every reading
- Low-confidence results are flagged, never hidden
- Coaching tips tell you what to adjust: finger coverage, pressure or movement
- Tag each reading as At rest, After workout or Other
A camera reading is only as good as the signal behind it. This pulse checker shows the confidence behind each result and tells you when it is worth measuring again.
