■ Four ways to calculate a loan
Solve for the monthly payment, or work back to how much you can borrow, the term or the interest rate. Tap the result heading to switch. A bar shows principal vs. interest.

■ Level payments, level principal and bonus payments
The same payment every month, or the same principal each month. Enter bonus payments as a share of the loan or an amount per bonus, and your age to see your age at payoff.

■ Amortization schedule and charts
By year or by month: payment, principal, interest and balance. Stacked bars per year and a balance line; tap the chart for that year's figures.

■ If the rate changes

[HOW IT'S CALCULATED]
Level payments: payment = loan × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)^−n), with r the monthly rate. Interest is rounded to the currency's smallest unit and the last payment absorbs the rest, so principal adds up exactly to the loan.

Q. Why does it differ slightly from my bank?
A. Rounding, day counts and guarantee fees vary by lender. Match the rounding setting and first payment month.
