Tony Staffieri, I assume, must be a very smart man. Given that he doesn’t do a very good job of keeping his customers happy. I have been trying for days and hours to settle a simple billing problem and the only thing I can talk to is a robot. I had an automated billing system that paid my bill for years. Somehow it was cancelled and my bill ran up so they sent me a text informing me they were going to cancel my subscription. I have paid my bill online and I still am getting notifications that I owe money. So Tony, get your team to do what you pay them to do. If you can’t do that what the heck kind of president are you? I consulted with Gemini and she said … Tell me what a good company should provide its customers with? A good company should prioritize the relationship it builds with its customers over the simple transaction of goods or services. In a competitive market, providing true value usually comes down to a few core pillars: 1. Reliable Quality and Consistency The most fundamental offering is a product or service that does exactly what it claims to do. Customers should feel confident that every time they engage with the brand, the quality will remain stable. Consistency builds the trust necessary for long-term loyalty. 2. Radical Transparency Ethical companies are open about their processes, pricing, and policies. This includes: • Clear Pricing: No hidden fees or "gotcha" clauses. • Honest Communication: Being upfront about delays, mistakes, or product limitations. • Data Privacy: Protecting customer information with the same rigor they would their own trade secrets. 3. Empathic Problem Solving Issues are inevitable, but a good company is defined by how it handles them. This involves: • Accessible Support: Real human connection when it matters, rather than an endless loop of automated menus. • Accountability: Taking ownership of errors and fixing them quickly without making the customer jump through hoops. 4. Continuous Value Beyond the Sale The "customer journey" shouldn't end at the checkout. Great companies provide ongoing support, such as: • Education: Helping customers get the most out of their purchase through tutorials or guides. • Community: Creating spaces where users can connect and share experiences. • Innovation: Regularly updating and improving their offerings based on direct user feedback. 5. Respect for Time Whether it’s a streamlined website, a fast checkout process, or a prompt response to an inquiry, a company that respects a customer's time demonstrates that they value the person, not just the profit. Do you think companies today are generally getting better at these things, or do you feel the human element is being lost to automation? So, they just updated their software and it doesn’t work.
