Note that what you can see and do within the MyChart app depends on which features your healthcare organisation has enabled and whether they’re using the latest version of Epic software. If you have questions about what’s available, contact your healthcare organisation.

To access MyChart, you must create an account with your healthcare organisation. To sign up for an account, download the app and search for your healthcare organisation or go to your healthcare organisation’s MyChart website. After you’ve signed up, turn on Face ID, Touch ID, or a four-digit passcode to quickly log in without needing to use your MyChart username and password each time. Then, make sure you have push notifications enabled to receive updates on your device when new information is available in MyChart.

Frustrating

I looked for information regarding an appointment and could not find an email, text message, or any app alerts. When I booked an appointment all the info pretty much disappeared. Because I had multiple appointments around the same time they were on different apps etc. I got no email notifications, text messages, or app alerts. The email you get doesn’t say anything about appointments so it isn’t searchable. Usually if you have an appointment your notifications are not buried in an app. This app needs more user testing. There are a few user fixes that would improve it.

Medication summary review deletes key info

After going to the trouble of adding medications, including the start dates, instructions for their use including frequency and dosage, either the review process itself or the individual doing the review wiped out this extra useful information and all that’s left now is the name of the medication. This should not be allowed or if the extra information can be deleted it should be an option provided where the patient has to approve that removal.
