Not backward compatible for legacy iPhones
The latest app update has locked out a lot of legacy iPhone users. If you aren’t using iOS17 forget it. Such a basic compatibility mistake is very amateur!

Unsafe stays, no support, censored reviews, personal data exposed
When serious safety, hygiene, and health concerns were raised, Airbnb support failed to investigate or take action, nor refund despite leaving the unsafe property we paid $1185 to stay two nights in! The process was dismissive and did not prioritise guest safety but protected the unsafe host of the property. Even more concerning, an honest and factual review of the property detailing these issues was removed, but the host’s untrue review left displayed which seriously undermines trust in the platform’s review system. Transparency is lacking when it matters most. Additionally, the platform allows hosts to request and retain copies of guest identification and violate privacy with undisclosed cameras which raises significant privacy and data security concerns. There is no reassurance around how this sensitive information is handled or protected allowing for fraudulent and illegal activity. This wasn’t an isolated experience, I will never use this platform again and have had to escalate to regulators and law enforcement. I would strongly caution others against relying on it for safe, transparent, and accountable bookings.

Why break functionality on older systems?
I had been using Airbnb without issues in my iPad. Now the recent automatically updated Airbnb app is not allowing me to use any functionality, saying that a newer version is required. It takes me to the App Store, which says the newer Airbnb app requires iOS 18+, which my iPad no longer supports since the last OS compatible is 16. What the hell? Who makes these choices? Are they expecting me to get a new iPad to replace what so far had been a functional app? Ridiculous. Why am I not able to use an older version? How is it that an automatic update is possible for the whole purpose of preventing me to continue using the app? Double ridiculous, so many questions.

What a joke
Absolute joke of an app. I just wanted to call and speak with the owner of a property before committing to a very long stay of 2 weeks, and spending a LOT of money. The app flagged the message and WOULD NOT let me even write another message after that. All I asked was “how can I call you to discuss please” What a joke of an app and a service. I do not recommend. Ps. Have used this app to book various properties over the years. Then treating me like a child that isn’t allowed to speak with someone else. Stay away

Airbnb superhost last 3 years -Airbnb support need a makeover
An airbnb superhost and guest fave for 3 years this 1/5 star review is entirely for the airbnb support team who are terrible. Just woeful. The amount of stress the call centre staff cause- making mistakes, not tracking support tickets, closing down support tickets that are unresolved saying they are resolved, preventing hosts from logging a support ticket, hearing 20 people talking in your phone when you call them because they can’t be bothered to invest in noise cancelling headphones -
