Description

SpectraSonar transforms your Android device into a functioning, real-time acoustic sonar system. By utilizing advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and raw hardware capabilities, SpectraSonar emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses and calculates the physical distance of objects based on the returning echoes.

Whether you are a paranormal investigator needing a portable Proximity Alarm / PMB (Paranormal Music Box), or a tech enthusiast fascinated by spatial measurement and lost everyday analog technology, SpectraSonar delivers real physics in the palm of your hand.

📱 DEVICE ORIENTATION & HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

Please Note: The app interface is intentionally locked upside-down. This is not a design flaw! It is designed to make you hold your phone like a TV remote control, aiming the bottom of the device outward toward your surroundings.

For the sonar to function correctly, your device must have its primary speaker and microphone located together at the bottom edge. While most modern smartphones use this standard layout, some tablets or specialized devices with different speaker placements may not produce accurate distance readings.

⚙️ THE ENGINEERING & SCIENCE

SpectraSonar is not a toy or a random number generator. It is a highly engineered utility that bypasses standard Android audio limits to operate as a true sonar system:
• Ultrasonic Pings: Emits highly controlled, 4-millisecond acoustic chirps between 18kHz and 19kHz.
• Time-of-Flight Math: Actively listens for the reflection of these silent chirps and calculates the microsecond delay to plot physical distance entirely in the dark.
• AGC Throttling: Features a custom acoustic engine with dynamic blanking windows to bypass hardware chassis ringing and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) squashing.

👻 USE CASES FOR ITC & PARANORMAL

• Digital PMB (Proximity Alarm): Set a customized distance tripwire. If an object or entity breaks the threshold, the device will trigger a visual and audible alarm.
• Carrier Wave Canvas: The constant high-frequency acoustic sweeping creates a dense, continuous energy field in the room, perfect for providing potential spirits a physical audio canvas to manipulate for EVPs, without muddying your audio recorders with audible noise.
• Blind Navigation: Detect walls, doors, or physical boundaries in pitch-black environments.

🎛️ ADVANCED CALIBRATION

SpectraSonar gives you raw control over your device's hardware sensors:
• Ping Rate (Duty Cycle): Adjust how many times per second the sonar fires (1Hz to 20Hz) to throttle processing and manage echo decay.
• Hardware Sensitivity: Boost the microphone's reception threshold to catch faint reflections from softer materials or distant walls.
• Tripwire Range: Set a visual range cap (up to 10 meters) and an exact PMB alarm threshold.

🛠️ HOW TO USE

Ensure your device's Media Volume is at 100% (The app cannot measure echoes if the speaker is too quiet).

Point the bottom of your phone (speaker and mic) toward your target.

Tap the Sonar button to begin acoustic ranging.

⚠️ CRITICAL PET SAFETY WARNING - PLEASE READ

SpectraSonar utilizes high-frequency ultrasonic audio ranging (18kHz - 19kHz). While these frequencies are completely silent to human ears, they are highly audible and extremely loud to dogs, cats, rodents, and other animals.

To pets, this application will sound identical to a loud anti-barking device or pest deterrent. DO NOT use this application in the vicinity of animals to avoid causing them distress or discomfort. Please use this tool responsibly.
