“As someone coming from the wrong side of the two cultures, Eliot's poem had effectively been closed off to me for decades. Now it isn't, and that in itself would almost justify the price of the iPad that made it possible.”
-The Guardian, UK, John Naughton

The Waste Land is published jointly by Faber and Faber and RGB. Faber is the London publisher where Eliot himself worked for almost four decades; RGB is behind other revolutionary interactive books for iPad including The Elements and Solar System which are defining the future of publishing. The interviews and Fiona Shaw's performance are specially filmed by Adam Low, director of the BBC Arena documentary on Eliot.

Publication of The Waste Land in 1922 was a milestone in the literary history of the 20th Century. This edition carries forward Eliot's vision and vividly demonstrates how literature can be illuminated by the new digital medium.

Too bad the update won't

Hubby liked the app, but the April update won't update. No response to my query about this from the developer. I notice it's come down in price a lot since I purchased it. Whats the point of updates if they won't update?

Superb Literature App

This app is brilliant and really brings to life one of the most important works of the early 20th Century. Fiona Shaw's performance is simply breathtaking and the extra material is truly fascinating! This app is worth every cent for the T.S. Eliot devotee!

Buggy

There seems to be another bug. Downloaded it from the Apps Store onto my computer then synced with my iPad. The iPad icon said 'Waiting'. Eventually it began laboriously downloading straight onto my iPad - and being such a huge program it completely used up my monthly downloading limit. Naturally, I tried to reinstall the downloaded app from my computer to the iPad, but no dice. When $60 worth of downloading for this month had been sucked dry, the app was still only half downloaded onto my iPad. WHY WON'T THIS PROGRAM DOWNLOAD ONTO MY COMPUTER SO IT CAN THEN BE SYNCED WITH MY IPAD??? Several people, including the reviewer from the Guardian newspaper, had this same problem. Love TS Eliot but this is really pushing my loyalty.

Truly magnificent & highly recommended

This is an outstanding electronic book. It provides a depth of experience of one of the greatest poems of modern times that would simply not be possible in another medium. Well done.
