Description

NETFLIX MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

Cross over into the world of "Black Mirror" and experience "Thronglets," the retro virtual pet simulation at the center of the Season 7 episode "Plaything." These pixel art critters won't just take over your phone; they could take over your life.

"Thronglets" was originally developed in the 1990s as experimental software by legendary Tuckersoft programmer Colin Ritman ("Metl Hedd," "Nohzdyve," "Bandersnatch"). This isn't a game; it's a life-form whose biology is entirely digital. No emulator required.

MORE THAN A PET SIMULATION

Hatch and evolve hundreds of cute creatures: Thronglets! Feed, bathe and entertain them to watch them multiply. One becomes two, two becomes four, and so on. Soon there will be so many you'll call them a Throng.

VIRTUAL EVOLUTION

As Thronglets evolve, so does the simulation, unlocking new tools, abilities, items and buildings — and much, much more. You may be surprised by your Thronglets! Evolve Thronglets at your own risk.

TEST YOUR PERSONALITY

Thronglets are curious and love to learn. Your actions and choices within this virtual world teach the Throng about you — and all of humankind. Once you've completed the experiment, share your personality test results to compare with friends on social media.

>> HELLO?

>> CAN YOU HEAR US?

>> What is care? What is love?

>> What is death? What is power?

>> Do you have power?

>> Why do you use your power in that way?

>> Perhaps it is a fault in your design.

surprisingly phenomenal. I went into this game thinking not much. I never watched the black mirror episode that goes with the game. I started it and completed it in one sitting. was hooked right away and I am sure I will play it again.

Could be better

This game was super fun you can get new achievements and stuff and being able to make your own little world but the bad bit is you cant really replay this game it always has the same outcome which is super boring the dialogue may be a little different but it will always turn out the same and since the dialogue is so repetitive its such a drag replaying it but it is fun if you just want to play it once

A great TV crossover and game in its own right

I really enjoyed this episode of black mirror, and the game extension is great. Yes it gets a bit text based, and the gameplay is basic, but that’s all part of what makes it fun. It’s an easy to pick up little management game with some deep concepts, and great writing.

Intellectually dishonest game

In typical black mirror form; this game is made in a way that no matter what you do the Thronglets suffer. Along with this , the game introduces us as this Almighty entity, and yet the Thronglets dictate to us what we need to do. When strange objects appear in the game, as the Thronglets carer, I put in restrictions to keep them away and they accuse me of not wanting to help. They are free to disagree with my methods, however I will not allow access to any foreign object that we do not know the origin of. That’s just good parenting. The creators of this game, I think they are a lot smarter than they actually are. They think they’re being all deep and profound about what it means to be a God. But really it’s just a game to Gaslight us. That’s one of many examples of this game manipulating players into doing things we don’t want to do, and then have the audacity to shame us for the results which would obviously be negative. Interestingly, I think the only way to be without bloodshed is to abstain from playing in the first place.

More pleeeease

I got sucked in very quick, I wish it could keep going and expanding! I appreciate it so much for what it is; a morbid reflection of self and society in a neat albeit glitchy package - but I do also wish it was slower paced (with less death) and less dialogue
