Apple TV not recognised by this app

For some strange reason, apple tv 4k won’t show up in this app on the watch. The phone is paired to the TV and remote works flawless there. But this app won’t recognise the TV and only has the add device + showing, completely useless, as the newer TV cannot be paired that way! In Home App on the watch, TV is recognised and can do basic start and pause. Seriously what is going on with this app?! searching internet yields no answers, but people with same problems and different fixes. Some unauthorised all their devices, some suggested to launch Home app first. Apple FAQ gives no help.

Started well, became dodgy and unreliable

Used to be great. Never had an issue connecting with either of my Apple TVs. Now it’s dodgy as and is a real pain to use. Doesn’t stay connected. Keeps disconnecting. Can’t even pair it with one of my Apple TVs anymore. Needs fixing or just taken back to what it used to be.
